jumpers on!

Everyone knows I love the beach and summertime. This year, however, I’m truly looking forward to autumn and winter in Sydney. Winter… I wouldn’t really call it winter but hey… It feels good to put on a nice jumper or a cardi and slip on a coat. I love layering plus scarves will make you feel cosy as well. I have recently purchased a pair of Hunter boots so can’t wait for the rain! (I know I’m weird =)). Greens are in this year and I’m still on the hunt for a lime jumper. It’s great that vivid colours are trendy this season to brighten up those cooler and shorter days. I found this pastel mint jumper in Dotti. It was really cheap and I couldn’t believe the quality. I think it goes really well with a pair of skinny jeans and the ocean background.

summer sparkle

I’m definitely a bit of a travel addict, not a bad addiction to have :-). Visiting new places is exciting and brings good memories later. My only bad habit when it comes to going away is I’m completely incapable of traveling light. I always take to much stuff, just in case. Luckily it’s not too important in the summer. All the clothes are small so you can take more. I completely fell in love with sheer or semi-sheer tops this season. They are ultra light and cool you in the summer. I’ve also noticed I picked lots of clothing items which had some sort of glitter element or embellishment. I think a bit of sparkle can transform your outfit from plain to chic and stylish. Nudes are still in and go well with white shorts, big bag will always come in handy when out and about on the beach
and don’t forget your oversized sunnies!

<3 summer time

Summer is my favourite season of the year, not only because of the temperature but also because there’s always plenty to do outdoors. I really feel like I’m being spoiled with a number of amazing beaches in Sydney. I know, though life… You can always go and explore new places. I really like summer time as you don’t need to put much effort into what you wear and how you look. There’s no need to do you hair, out of bed/beach waves will always look good. Make-up is not necessary too, healthy tan in my opinion makes you look good. Always make sure you apply sunscreen regularly as the sun in Oz is super strong. Finally, slip on a nice dress and put some flop flops on and you are ready to rock the beaches. I got this lovely dress from my sister. Goes really well with the blueness of the sky and the sea. Love it!

spring time beach time!

It’s never easy to dress for the beach when it’s not quite the bikini weather… It can often be windy but the sun can make you feel hot too. Whenever I can I try to layer up. You can always take your off your jacket & scarf or a cardi. Well, then you do end up carrying everything like a camel but at least you are prepared for all the elements. Leggings are always the winner and I really got to love those cotton mini skirts recently. Wear a simple top and a jacket / blazer and you are ready to rock at the beach! Make sure you have your sunnies and some sunscreen on. A simple up-do will be more comfortable if it’s windy.

what to wear in Sydney during winter

What to wear in winter when you live in Oz? Good question. I struggle sometimes. It’s warm outside (20 degrees) but once you are indoors I tend to get really cold. Well, there’s no central heating so drinking hot teas is my solution. Secondly, a scarf is a must, no real need for a winter coat in here but just make sure you have a few layers on just in case. If it’s too hot just take off you cardi or jacket. In winter I normally choose darker colours but I found this great tunic in bright green when shopping at Sportsgirl. I didn’t think this shade would suit me (optimistic as always ;-)) but I think it looks decent. Bright colours go well with more greys and more neutral tones but I absolutely love my fluoro pink nail polish. Pair of skinny jeans and an oversized scarf are my absolute favourites this winter.                 One more thing, don’t forget a cup of the on the go to keep you warm!

neon’s on!

You are never too old for neon colours! This season vibrant shades are in so enjoy wearing them as much as you can. Travelling through some of the Bali villages I came across this lovely lady. She definitely knows what’s in fashion this season and I think she did a great job putting her outfit together. This full length bold print skirt goes well with the neon pink jacket and yellow T-shirt. Her neon orange turban to tops it all off! She didn’t even forget to put some funky electric violet flip-flops on!

She rocks!

autumn beach time

It is always good time to go to the beach in Oz, even in autumn. So much quieter, even on a public holiday. I love beach any time as long as it doesn’t rain of course. The key thing is to keep warm and put on a few layers. You can still look good and feel comfortable. I absolutely love long, oversized cardigans and can’t live without leggings. Slip on a longer top/short dress grab an oversized beach hand bag and you are ready to go. Ahh, don’t forget your comfy shoes!!

what NOT to wear when it’s hot!

What to where when walking around Thai temples in 30 degrees heat and high humidity?? Tank top? Not allowed! Shorts?? Not allowed!! Thongs??? Not allowed!!!

You have to cover up visiting the main temples so I decided to go for a pair of skinny jeans, a t-shirt and covered shoes. Well, I had to go for it, if it was possible I would have picked a bikini but I guess that wouldn’t fly… I put a white singlet under the t-shirt to absorb any sweat. It actually worked, at least for a bit. Luckily for me, I didn’t look as ridiculous as masses of people wearing these bright patterned pants available to rent!

leopard print rules!

I’m not too into animal print but sometimes I brave myself to wear it. My mum used to say: everything in moderation, this rule definitely applies here. Hence it’s a fairly bold pattern try not to overdo it. Pair it with a plain jacket and jeans, limit the accessories. Stronger make up will be good for an evening outing and choose more natural colours for a daytime look.
